20 things to make with your Easter Chocolate

Have you got cupboards overflowing with Easter eggs and Chocolate? The Easter Bunny went wild this year I think we may have enough to leave for Santa when he comes on Christmas Eve!

Being half term the past two weeks I've also had to entertain the girls and as usual this has involved a lot of baking. We made Easter Cupcakes for my Easter Bake Along which was live in my Facebook group - For the Love of all things Baking and Cake Decorating

which was a great success but then they wanted Chocolate Chip Cookies and I just though, More Chocolate??!! Then I had a little light bulb moment and thought this could be a great way to use up some of that chocolate! This lead me to wonder what else could we do with all of this Chocolate?

So, here is my list of 20 things you can do to use up some of your Easter egg chocolate:

  • Chocolate Chip Cookies - obviously this was my first idea and definitely deserves a place on my list.

  • Chocolate dipped strawberries - so juicy, a bit naughty but also part of your 5 a day!

  • Chocolate Ganache - ideal to spread between layers of a chocolate cake or used to create a flawless crumb coat underneath your sugarpaste.

  • Hot Chocolate - melt some chocolate in a mug of milk for truly luxurious hot chocolate drink.

  • Chocolate crispie cakes - use rice crispies, cornflakes or shredded wheat to make some delicious crispy treats.

  • Chocolate Fondue - as a massive cheese lover the word fondue gets me excited but you can use fruit, biscuits, marshmallows or anything else you'd like dipped in chocolate and create a really fun dessert.

  • Chocolate mousse - whip up a light and fluffy but decadent dessert, you could add some orange flavouring too.

  • Brownies - you can do this one of two ways; melt the chocolate to create your base or crush the chocolate and add it to create texture in your bake.

  • Ice Cream Sauce - drizzle melted chocolate on your ice cream or swirl it through your ice cream for a really luxurious chocolate ice cream.

  • Rocky Road - a super simple no bake recipe where you can add any of your favourite treats.

  • Chocolate Pretzels - dip your salty snacks in melted chocolate for the perfect sweet/salty balance.

  • Chocolate Bark - melt your chocolate and sprinkle over your favourite toppings. Kids love sprinkles!

  • DIY Chocolate bars - melt your chocolate and stir in your favourite fillings, mine has to be dark chocolate and ginger or fruit and nut.

  • Chocolate covered Marzipan - it wouldn't be one of my blogs without the mention of Marzipan somewhere!!

  • Chocolate covered frozen bananas - Not gonna lie I got some looks when I served these at my daughters birthday party but they went down a treat!

  • Chocolate truffles - they take a bit of practice but when you've got it mastered you can make so many yummy flavours.

  • Chocolate fudge - literally 2 ingredients and you've got a super easy chocolate fudge - just add condensed milk.

  • Chocolate Tiffin - another super easy, no bake, old school, chocolatey treat.

  • Chocolate cheesecake - a super rich and but decadent dessert, beautiful served with a tart raspberry coulis.

  • Simply grated chocolate - grate chocolate on yoghurt, or you breakfast granola, ice cream, cakes or on your cappuccino.

Well I hope that's given you a few ideas on what to do with your Easter Chocolate. If you'd like to show off your creations you join my Facebook group and share your pics, or any other ideas you have, in there or you can post them to Instagram and tag #pumpkinstopearls. I'd really love to see them.
